Legal Financing with Affirm® Buy Now, Pay Later

Affirm® Logo

Representation by an attorney is expensive. We understand. That is why we are happy to provide Affirm® Buy Now, Pay Later. With Affirm®, instead of paying your legal fees in full, you could pay as low as $0 down to get started and the rest over 24 monthly payments*.

There are three easy steps to getting started with ClearYourCase.com and funding your legal services with an Affirm® loan:

  1. Speak With Our Attorney. Call us at (800) 588-8098 for a free attorney consultation. On the call, attorney Anthony M. Masi will ask you questions about your criminal law matters to determine which record-clearing services are appropriate for you. At the end of the call, Mr. Masi will quote you the total price, and our office will email you our Attorney Representation Agreement via Docusign. Feel free to review the agreement before moving forward.
  2. Apply with Affirm®. Once you have the total price, visit ClearYourCase.com/Pay to apply with Affirm®. When you complete the application process, Affirm® will provide you with loan options. Accept the loan that is best for you.
  3. Sign our Agreement. Once your Affirm® loan is accepted, check your email to find our Attorney Representation Agreement, and click on the “REVIEW DOCUMENT” link (it looks like a website button). Our agreement will open, and you can review and sign it.

Once these three steps are complete, your legal representation will begin immediately.

If you have any questions about Affirm®, or to start the record-clearing process with your free attorney consultation, call us at (800) 588-8098. We hope you can use Affirm® as a tool toward clearing your criminal record and meeting your personal, business, and financial goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Affirm®?

Affirm® is a money lender, similar to a bank. You can borrow money from Affirm® to pay our legal fees for your record-clearing services. You then repay Affirm® over time. Our clients are often able to repay Affirm® once per month over 24 months and pay $0 down when starting. This makes their monthly payment relatively low.

What is the benefit of using Affirm®?

The benefit of using Affirm® is being able to start legal services immediately and pay over time.

How much would my Affirm® payment be?

As an example, a basic, misdemeanor expungement costs $795. Through Affirm, you could pay a $0 down payment to start then $33.13 per month for 24 months.

This is just an example. Your payments may differ and would depend on the amount borrowed (your total legal fees) and the loan options offered by Affirm®.

Will using Affirm® delay my case?

No. Once you accept an Affirm® loan to pay your legal fees, you are considered paid in full with our firm, and we will begin your legal representation without delay. The sooner we can finish clearing your criminal record, the sooner you can get the job, promotion, license, or housing of your dreams.

Will you stop work or end representation if I pay Affirm® late or miss a payment?

No. Loan repayment to Affirm® is unrelated to us or your legal services.

Once you accept an Affirm® loan to pay your legal fees, Affirm® pays us for you in full. Affirm® never takes loan proceeds back from us. In fact, Affirm® would not even tell us if you were late.

Are there any negatives to applying for or using Affirm®?

When applying to Affirm®, Affirm® will access your credit score and credit report to decide which loan options to offer you. Depending on your credit, you might pay interest on your loan, you might be required to make a down payment, and you might not be offered the loan repayment term you hoped to receive. Also, not all applicants will qualify for an Affirm® loan at all.

How likely am I to be denied an Affirm® loan?

In our experience with potential clients who sought legal financing through Affirm®, it is rare for Affirm® to deny a loan applicant and provide them with no loan offers or options.

Can I prequalify with Affirm®?

Yes. You may prequalify for an Affirm® loan without affecting your credit. To prequalify and view your Affirm® options, visit ClearYourCase.com/Pay and select “Pay Later.” Even though the webpage will say you are beginning the loan application process, you should have the opportunity to see your loan options before a hard credit inquiry is run.

Will prequalifying with Affirm® hurt my credit?

No. When you prequalify with Affirm®, Affirm® runs a soft credit inquiry, which will not appear on your credit report or affect your credit score.

Should I use Affirm®?

Only you can decide whether using Affirm® makes sense for you. However, if you cannot afford our legal services without Affirm®, and your criminal record is preventing you from working (or getting a better job, being promoted, or getting licensed), you may find that clearing your criminal record by using Affirm® is the best financial decision you have ever made. It is hard to overstate how much of a positive effect clearing your criminal record can have on your finances, lifetime earnings, and overall life.

Who would I make Affirm® loan payments to?

You would pay Affirm® directly according to your loan agreement. If you have any questions, Affirm®’s customer service telephone number is (855) 423-3729. They are open everyday from 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Pacific time.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to any Affirm® accounts; and, according to Affirm®’s rules, we are not allowed to deal with Affirm® on behalf of clients.

What if I have a question about my Affirm® loan or account?

For questions about an established Affirm® loan or account, contact Affirm® directly. Affirm®’s customer service telephone number is (855) 423-3729. They are open everyday from 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Pacific time.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to any Affirm® accounts; and, according to Affirm®’s rules, we are not allowed to deal with Affirm® on behalf of clients.

What if I do not qualify for Affirm®?

In our experience, Affirm® denials are rare. However, if you do not qualify for an Affirm® loan, or simply do not want one, we have standard in-house payment plans with equal monthly payments, no credit check, and no interest:

  • 3-month plan: Pay once per month for 3 months (no credit check, no interest for this in-house payment plan).
  • 4-month plan: Pay once per month for 4 months (no credit check, no interest for this in-house payment plan).
  • Start now plan: Pay $94.00 to start then once per month for 3 months (no credit check, no interest for this in-house payment plan).

We also offer custom payment plans. If our standard payment plans don’t work for you (for example, you need more time to pay because you are waiting for a tax refund, stimulus payment, or pay day, or clearing your case involves multiple services), call us. We’re flexible!

What is ClearYourCase.com’s involvement with Affirm®?

Our involvement with Affirm® is limited. We receive Affirm® loan funds that pay for our clients’s legal services, and we pay Affirm® a fee for providing those funds. That is all. We are not paid a commission for referring or originating loans. We also do not offer loans, originate loans, provide customer service for loans, guarantee loans, or influence loan acceptance decisions or offered terms.

Is there any “fine print” I should know about related to Affirm®?

“Affirm®” means Affirm Loan Services, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, NMLS ID 1479506. Affirm® is a finance lender and broker, not a bank. Affirm® is licensed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. Affirm® loans are made or arranged pursuant to California Financing Law license 60DBO-111681.

Affirm® loans, options, and contract terms are subject to credit approval and an eligibility check. Interest rates are 0–36% APR, and repayment terms are 1-48 months, at the sole discretion of Affirm®. Not all applicants will qualify for a loan or for all terms. A downpayment may be required. Any loan from Affirm® is a direct agreement between Affirm® and the borrower. Tony Masi PC is not a finance lender, loan broker, servicer, or financial institution, and does not offer, solicit, originate, underwrite, guarantee, fund, or service any loans. Tony Masi PC has no role in Affirm®’s loan approval or denial decisions and receives no compensation from Affirm® other than payment of loan proceeds less Affirm®’s processing fee.

1

Complete Our Client Onboarding Form

Once we are hired, we will send you our client onboarding form. This form will ask you questions about yourself and the cases you would like to clear. When you finish the form, send it back to us along with any case-related paperwork you have. Don't worry if you do not know the answers to the form's questions or can't find documents. We're here to help!

2

Get Your Documents & Background Check

Next, we will work together with you to find the documents that we believe would be helpful for us to clear your case. Sometimes, we don't need any documents other than what we can find online. Other times, we might need a letter of recommendation, a probation report, a court file, or a background check. We will work with you to obtain everything you need.
